CAN YOU HELP WITH OUR INVESTIGATION?

Good afternoon,

Officers are renewing their efforts to trace a dog walker who could be an important witness in a sexual assault investigation on Shoal Hill Common. 

We received a report at 2.30pm on Monday 29 June that a woman had been approached by a man with a knife. The woman was not injured.

After carrying out enquiries at the time, we arrested a charged a 40-year-old man, of no fixed address, in connection with the investigation. He remains on remand in custody ahead of his next appearance at Stafford Crown Court on 28 August. 

We are still looking to identify a dog walker who we think may have been in the area at the time that could help us with our enquiries. He is described as a white man, roughly in his 60s, of a slim build and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket and a brown / green flat cap. His dog was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a tanned coloured coat.
